Sullivan’s travels ::

The basis of this blog is to travel around with Spacecraft Astronaut the world renowned Surf/ Snow/Art/Culture Photographer and accomplished musician Scott Sullivan. Join him on his adventures with some of the world’s top professional Snowboarders and Surfers on their mission to capture some of the most

progressive riding weather it be snow or waves, and searching for the ultimate conditions to provide high quality imagery to share with the masses.

Experience what it is like to fly around in a helicopter up in Alaska with top up and comer Jake Blauvelt, figuring out which one of the sea of

endless peaks you want to be dropped off on and find your way down. Hang in Switzerland with Nicolas Muller arguably one of the best

snowboarders in the world at his home in Laax and explore what’s in his back yard. Combine these adventures with Scott’s musical talent blended in along

the way and you’re in for a sweet ride!

ByDesign10

MARCH 5-11, 2010

Presented by Northwest Film Forum and AIGA-Seattle
Sponsored by CapitolHillSeattle.com

ByDesign explores the intersection of graphic design and moving image, and celebrates multidisciplinary artists who push the boundaries to create new techniques, styles and forms. Over the past decade, we’ve had the pleasure of hosting a great number of special guest artists, and presenting hundreds of new and historic films. We’ve seen new technologies developed, old techniques revived and watched as interest has grown in this overlap of design and film.

The tenth annual ByDesign program features a range of film title sequences, animations, documentary portraits and guest presenters. We are especially pleased to present films by Charles and Ray Eames, as the work of the legendary multi-disciplinary husband and wife team was the main inspiration for our starting this program a decade ago.

Curator: Peter Lucas

Program Assistant: Katherine Jardine

We’ve been waiting a while to bring this one to the public, so without further ado here is “Mc Laden” a fusion of cultural icons Bin Laden and Mickey Mouse by Stefan Hofmann. This design was originally meant to be placed on a t-shirt but continually was dismissed because of the controversial aspect radiating from the work.

Spacecraft hit up the 7th annual Holy Oly Revival

Filed under: Uncategorized — Ryan @ 12:33 pm

The Holy Oly lives up to its legend : Here is the Spacecraft perspective

Spacecraft NW Road Warrior : Brice Niebuhr : Brice is a cool cat that is just pure stoke with a hefty side of raw talent. Photo: Huggy

Spacecraft NW Road Warrior Brice Niebuhr a cool cat. Pure stoke. Photo: Huggy

This was the 7th year of the Holy Oly. It has always seen a mix of weather and natural disasters to try and slow it down. Mudslides or lack of snow have tried, but have not made a dent in what is always one of the best un-contests in snow shredding.

There must have been 350+ happy humans hanging out, hiking and enjoying the sunny weather here at Hyak in mid Feb.

The Spacecraft crew was in attendance, the Rabbit chickened out on the QP, but came strong for the after party.

Huge congrats to Spacecrafters and friends: Here are some of the awards

We don’t need no stinking binders award: Jake Tomlinson
Berserker Award: Nate Farrell
Highest air/ Best Facial Expression: Bryce Niebuhr
Billy Goat’s Gruff Award: Blair Habenicht
Holiest of the Oly: Austin Hironaka

Krush and Lib’s Pete Saari for being the glue
