We’ve been waiting a while to bring this one to the public, so without further ado here is “Mc Laden” a fusion of cultural icons Bin Laden and Mickey Mouse by Stefan Hofmann. This design was originally meant to be placed on a t-shirt but continually was dismissed because of the controversial aspect radiating from the work.

Spacecraft hit up the 7th annual Holy Oly Revival

Filed under: Uncategorized — Ryan @ 12:33 pm

The Holy Oly lives up to its legend : Here is the Spacecraft perspective

Spacecraft NW Road Warrior : Brice Niebuhr : Brice is a cool cat that is just pure stoke with a hefty side of raw talent. Photo: Huggy

Spacecraft NW Road Warrior Brice Niebuhr a cool cat. Pure stoke. Photo: Huggy

This was the 7th year of the Holy Oly. It has always seen a mix of weather and natural disasters to try and slow it down. Mudslides or lack of snow have tried, but have not made a dent in what is always one of the best un-contests in snow shredding.

There must have been 350+ happy humans hanging out, hiking and enjoying the sunny weather here at Hyak in mid Feb.

The Spacecraft crew was in attendance, the Rabbit chickened out on the QP, but came strong for the after party.

Huge congrats to Spacecrafters and friends: Here are some of the awards

We don’t need no stinking binders award: Jake Tomlinson
Berserker Award: Nate Farrell
Highest air/ Best Facial Expression: Bryce Niebuhr
Billy Goat’s Gruff Award: Blair Habenicht
Holiest of the Oly: Austin Hironaka

Krush and Lib’s Pete Saari for being the glue

Spacecraft wins Gold at the 2010 Olympics

Filed under: Uncategorized — Ryan @ 8:56 pm

A last minute call from a friend lead me to abandon weekend plans to head north to check out the 2010 Olympics in Whistler Village.

There were rumors of 3 hour lines at the boarder, check points, no parking and straight up craziness that I would normally avoid at all costs. But, the fact that we had a place to stay in the Village, a parking pass and the Spacecraft Rabbit suit lead me to make the journey.

The rumors turned out to be just rumors. We hit the boarder with one car in front of us, no search and were off through Vancouver, past Horse Shoe Bay and in our condo by 8pm. We rang new found friend Lauren Ritz who works at Evolution (a fine Spacecraft retailer) in Whistler village, booked a room at Sushi Village and spun into a Saki fueled blitzkrieg on the dance floor of the Savage Beagle. We received the local treatment and mixed a concoction of various drinks that nearly destroyed us the following day.

We met new friends, Pat and Lisa who took us to the goods on Saturday. With a little direction we were given access to some nice powder stashes at Black Comb. The day was a little over cast on Saturday and we were all a little hung over. At the end of the day we took a hike to a run called DOA. A steep chute into an opened powder field. Photos below.

For the Olympic action, we found it best to walk the Village and check out the monitors. Ticket were over priced and we were content with not standing in lines.

I was on a toque mission. Toque is Canadian for beanie, and the locals rock them proud with a level of diversity unmatched. I set out to find a blend between Bob and Doug McKenzie from Strange Brew and One Flew Over The Coo Coos Nest.

The following day was set with 15cm of fresh snow and spotty blue skies. So, if there was an Olympics event for smashing rumors and scoring Whistler with light crowds on what was thought to be a psycho weekend, we won Gold.

Year of the Tiger-Bunny!

Filed under: Bunny — Ryan @ 1:21 pm

tiger-rabbit2Welcome to the year of the Tiger 2010!

According to Chinese Astrology

The Tiger is said to be lucky vivid, lively and engaging. Another attribute of the Tiger is his incredible bravery, evidenced in his willingness to engage in battle or his undying courage. Maybe he’s so brave because he is so lucky.

Tiger is not the only one feeling lucky… Bunny is feeling it! Enter the Dragon and crouch the Tiger stance, here comes Spacecraft 2010, Bunny Style…..

Are there any Tiger’s out there? Hit us up on Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter and share your stance on the year to come. Photos and videos welcome. Show us you’re a Tiger! Show us what you can do……

This one’s kind of ironic because we work so hard making it happen here at Spacecraft that sometimes it’s difficult to make it up to the mountain. Thanks to Sarah and Stefan we do get a great many pow days though. This sticker kind of takes you to those days when it’s dumping on the hill and you will be driving up to the mountain on a Wednesday and everyone else is going the opposite direction through rush hour traffic into the city to their daily work grind. Cheers to all of you who take pow days.
